Duties

Help

As a Supervisory Grants Management Specialist, you will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Supervises a group of employees performing work at the GS-13 level and below. Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.
  • Oversees and manages grant and cooperative agreement programs focused on juvenile justice, missing and exploited children, child abuse and protection, youth violence prevention and intervention, and/or youth-focused programs.
  • Provides expert guidance on grant and cooperative agreement-related projects and programs related to juvenile justice and delinquency prevention. Monitors and analyzes trends and progress, conducting statistical analysis of financial performance.
  • Plans, develops, analyzes, and oversees the creation of grant, cooperative agreement, and related financial management policies.
  • Leads the planning, announcement, and coordination of pre-award processes for intricate grants and agreements. Develops strategic plans that outline the mission, goals, and objectives of the pre-award phase.
  • Oversees a portfolio of agency programming in areas of juvenile justice and/or child protection implemented through grants and cooperative agreements managed by staff. Conducts evaluations to ensure ongoing programs meet established goals, identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with national, state, and local experts, administrators, policymakers, and planners. Represents OJJDP on panels, committees, and working groups that conduct advanced analyses.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Examples of specialized experience include:
-Oversaw the end-to-end grants and/or agreement administration process related to juvenile justice, youth-focused programs, child protection, and/or an associated field.
-Advised on grants and/or cooperative agreement administration matters including all pre and post-award procedures and policy interpretation related to juvenile justice, youth-focused programs, child protection, and/or an associated field.
- Led or managed grants management activity and coordination with staff related to juvenile justice, youth-focused programs, child protection, and/or an associated field.
-Ensured compliance with rules, regulations, and policies, while considering the added value to the organization's mission related to juvenile justice, youth-focused programs, child protection, and/or an associated field.

  • This position has a duty station of Washington, D.C. The selectee will be required to physically report to the OJP office building at least four (4) days per bi-weekly pay period and may incorporate leave and official travel plans into this reporting requirement. The office director or supervisor may request the selectee's presence in the office more frequently, as determined by the needs of the office. The selectee will be responsible for covering all commuting-related travel expenses. OJP employees are eligible for one transportation benefit - parking or the Department of Justice (DOJ) transit subsidy.
