Duties

Help
  • Assist in service integration through monitoring, integrating, and evaluating impacts and performance of implementations, support, enhancements, and upgrade decisions/changes from service lines in accordance with OCIO Enterprise capabilities.
  • Engage with customers to provide support and triage for operational issues and services. Typically work with Information Technology (IT) Points of Contacts (POCs) in a customer organization.
  • Work alongside peers to represent Center Chief Information Officer (CCIO) in Center planning, partnership development and change management committees, boards and Integrated Project Teams (IPTs).
  • Provide administrative support to the Center’s Emergency Communications Center (ECC) preparedness objectives for provisioning fixed, mobile and field deployable contingency IT services to the Center.
  • Support management of the Center Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) internal and external partnership agreements.
  • Support center delivered Radio Frequency (RF) services, and the setup and operation of secure conference room systems.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

You may meet the basic requirements through substitution of education for experience

To qualify for the GS-9, you must have:
a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level:

  • Serving on planning committees, boards, or Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) for the development of facilities or campuses;
  • Working with internal and external customers to support the development, approval, changes, records management and follow-on compliance with IT partnership agreements;
  • Providing IT customer support in one or more of the following areas: data, voice, video, radio, or networks.
OR
b) Completed all requirements for a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree with (1) a major in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR (2) a major that provided a minimum of 24 semester in one or more fields of computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
OR
c) Completed 2 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree with (1) a major in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR (2) a major that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more fields of computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.

AND
IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
