Duties

Help

As the Gallery Support Specialist you will:

  • Assists in the planning and execution of pre-professional program activities, ensuring effective coordination and impactful experiences. Primarily focuses on engaging directly with teens and young adults, utilizing extensive experience in youth mentorship, teaching, youth program development, and art education.
  • Provides comprehensive administrative support for program logistics, including scheduling, communication, resource management, and record-keeping. Ensures efficient coordination of all program activities, including detailed reporting on participant engagement and program outcomes. Collaborates on projects across all pre-professional programs, demonstrating flexibility and using various skills.
  • Brings creative ideas to program development and problem-solving. Contributes to the creative and artistic elements of programs, leveraging any personal background in art-making or creative practices.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-0301-9.

Candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-7 level in the Federal service working with teens or young adults (14-24) in a cultural organization, non-profit, or educational setting.

OR

EDUCATIONMaster's or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED.

OR

COMBINATION:You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. The total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education more than the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED.

Other Relevant Eligibility Criteria: This position requires availability for occasional duty time outside of a normal work week, including during evenings and weekends.

  1. Youth Program Coordination – Ability to plan, develop, and execute pre-professional program activities specifically aimed at teens and young adults, ensuring effective coordination, impactful experiences, and meaningful engagement with youth participants.
  2. Administrative Support – Proficiency in administrative tasks and coordination to support educational programs for teens, interns, and young adults.
  3. Art Education – Knowledge and experience in teaching art, developing art-related curriculum, and integrating creative practices into educational programs for youth.
