Duties

Help
  • Assists in the disassembly, repair, modification, preventative maintenance, installation, removal and assembly of machinery and equipment.
  • Assistant Management in the repair and testing of the less complex electrical accessories,componentS,SubsyStemSandcontrol equipment directly related to industrial machinery and systems.
  • Asssist Management with painting, mowing, and basic carpenter work.
  • Assures safety requirements, housekeeping and environmental compliance rules are followed and personal protective equipment is properly used.
  • Tracks hazard material (oil, paint, solvents, lubricants) and submits hazard reports on oil and other hazard spills and ensures these spillages are cleaned up properly and timely.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must be willing and able to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to make repairs where parts worked on are in hard to reach places. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • A pre-employment occupational physical is required for this position.
  • Appointment subject to favorable suitability determination.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Requires periodic drug testing.
  • The employee must have and maintain a cunent driver's license while in this job.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
  • Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner.
  • Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job.
  • Requires a valid state driver's license

  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
