DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, coordinates, implements and supervises diverse recreation, leisure, and community programs and services that are responsive to the needs of the serviced military, civilian, retiree, and family member populations. Oversees a 7-day-a-week operation that includes the BUFF Community Center facility and related programs, catering and food and beverage operation and all other facets of the operation. Serves as the RMC facility manager and reports all reports all repairs and maintenance requirements according to procedures. Reviews organization mission, functions and manning. Identifies requirements and initiates request for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives. Drafts and maintains activity budget. Ensures fiscal responsibility. Opens and closes facility, registers all RMC participants, accepts payments, makes bank deposits, drops off cash collection and participation. Supervises personnel assigned to Community Center. Assigns, directs and reviews the work of subordinate employees; plans and carries out the training and development of employees; evaluation employee work performance; recommends selections, status changes and disciplinary actions; plans schedules. Decorates facility to reflect holiday and program themes. Serves as records management custodian. Ensures community center core programming standards are met annually. Gathers and evaluates current and popular programming trends form various sources and makes judgments on specific clientele needs. Manager works in conjunction with the CPPO office for the 2d Force Support Squadron (FSS) for the Wing events such as base picnics and air shows. During large base deployments, exercises or other special conditions, leads leisure activities and assists with program needs. Works with and may be required to assist other FSS staff members, volunteers and services contract personnel. Uses word processing software to produce a variety of documents. Acts as a concierge for incoming inspection teams. Performs all other duties as required by supervisor. Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience and working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities equipment , rules and procedures which involves recreational work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must have knowledge of food and beverage operations. Must demonstrate adequate proficiency in office software usage, direct cash handling and cash accountability/control methods. Requires lifting items weighing up to 20 pounds. An uncommon tour of duty is required. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
