Summary

This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Dwight D. Eisenhower Library. Incumbent serves as a Sales Operations Assistant and assists with the responsibility of a Presidential Library and Museum. They serve as a lead associate in the absence of a supervisor for all sales store clerk(s). The incumbent will draft sales reports, maintain vendor files, assist with the purchasing of items and admission operations, and assist with all aspects of the deposit process.

Duties

Help

As a SALES OPERATIONS ASSISTANT, you will:

  • Work with suppliers to ensure that products are prepared and developed according to specifications.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of selling floor inventory and its control system.
  • Brief other lower graded personnel and the general public on the activities of the Museum Store and Library, its missions and goals.
  • Participate with the supervisor in conducting analysis of museum sales operations and report findings and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee the deposit of museum store funds including the daily reconciliation of store funds, the posting of these funds and preparing relevant forms and paperwork as required.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

To be qualified for this position at the GS-05 Level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-04 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position must include:

Demonstrating your ability to perform retail merchandising, procurement, inventory control activities, retail and/or mail order sales;
AND

Preparing and maintaining reports;
AND
Utilizing computer technology and software programs.

OR
Education:
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Successful completion of 4 years above the high school.

OR
Combining Education and Experience: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
