Help
  • You will be cross-trained in multiple areas across the department to perform duties supporting explosive manufacturing, warhead processing, small and large rocket motor assembly, inspections, or other duties as assigned.
  • You will learn how to perform the manufacturing processes and inspect products to ensure they meet specification and drawing requirements.
  • You will assist engineers and other technicians in using qualitative and quantitative techniques to solve manufacturing problems.
  • You will support the development of new tooling, fixtures and equipment enhancements to improve the manufacturing process.
  • You will maintain product quality, equipment, tools, workstations, and a safe work area.
  • You will support a manufacturing organization.
  • You will be required to report to the duty location advertised in the announcement on a regular and recurring basis. Occasional telework options may be available.

Qualifications

FOR NT-03: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-02 pay band (GS-05 through GS-08) equivalent grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and interpreting engineering technical methods and procedures to perform engineering technical work in support of explosive manufacturing capabilities and processes.

FOR NT-02: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-04) equivalent grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: reviewing and interpreting engineering technical methods and procedures to assist with engineering technical work in support of explosive manufacturing processes.

This announcement uses the Direct Hire STRL Mission Support authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

This position is located in the Energetics Manufacturing Department (M) of Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-02 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-05 through GS-08 grade levels. The NT-03 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-09 and GS-10 grade levels. The FPL NT-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-11 and GS-12 grade levels.

Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
