Summary

About the position: The primary purpose of this position is to perform and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialist in the operation and maintenance of indoor and/or outdoor recreational facilities.

This NTE position is to assist with winter resort runs, fun bus, distant resort runs and Unite trips; from 11/04/24 to 3/15/25.

This is a FLEX employment category position with ZERO guaranteed hours per week.

Duties

Help

Sets up recreation areas for scheduled activities; records attendance; takes reservations and payment for trips and tours; notifies participants of schedule changes; arranges for equipment or tools, charging them out to participants, and checking them for condition on their return. Posts announcements of scheduled activities and answers inquiries about item, place, transportation, or other matters related to activities scheduled. Checks the established safety system of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities, tools, and equipment. Takes inventory of authorized recreation supplies and equipment. Helps with group activities which require more than one staff monitor, performing specifically assigned tasks. May operate Government Vehicles. Must be able to work an uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience demonstrating a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular and recurring basis. Ability to safeguard and handle cash.

Successful completion and favorable adjudication of background investigation (Tier 1 level) is required. Must be able to work an uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
