About the position: This position will be assigned to Hanger 1080 at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas.

This is a Regular Part Time Position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave) This position is guaranteed 20 hours but can be scheduled up to 40 hours per week.

Duties

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implements higher level directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of food and beverage, recreational and entertainment/promotional programs.
  • Establishes, reviews and evaluates menu planning, food service, purchase of supplies, equipment and resale merchandise.
  • Establishes financial goals commensurate with market analysis of area or region.
  • Prepares budget, analyzes financial results and maintains solid financial condition of the club or club complex.
  • Responsible for work force management, recruitment and staff training.
  • Ensures all food safety and health requirements are maintained and practiced.
  • Manages real property resources and provides expert advice on renovations, improvements, minor and major construction.
  • Ensures proper military and civilian protocol is practiced. Coordinates with senior military and civilian leadership and local, state and federal officials. Works an uncommon tour of duty.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

  • General Experience: Must have experience that shows progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical or other work which has provided a general knowledge of management principles and practices, or progressively responsible experience in one or more of the functions in food and beverage management.
  • Substitution for General Experience: A four-year degree from an accredited college with a major in one or a combination of hospitality, culinary, restaurant or club management, or business management may be substituted for the general experience.
  • Specialized Experience: In addition to the general experience, applicant MUST have specialized experience gained in management or assisting in the operation of a government or civilian club, restaurant, or institutional feeding facility. Highly desired for the experience to include responsibility or supervision over at least one phase of club management operations.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
