Duties

Help
  • The incumbent works in the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Information Operations (J6), Program Executive Office (J62), Technical Environment and Application Support (J62EC TEAS), Application, Integration, Standards and Compliance Support (J62ECB).
  • Provides expert technical support for release management /job scheduling change management migration services and testing support for Automated Information System (AIS) sustainment projects.
  • Resolves problems and areas requiring corrective action as related to day-to-day operations.
  • Provides release management (RM) / change management migration support services and testing support for AIS sustainment projects involving technical components, i.e., ECC, BW, CRM, PDMI, SRM, GRC, SCM, PI, and PSM.
  • Responsible for applying an in-depth knowledge of appropriate software life cycle management policies and procedures.
  • Implements standard methods and procedures for release management/job scheduling functions.
  • Establish, monitor, update and implement actions for Plans of Action and Milestones (POA and M) related to the Enterprise Level applications in T and D, Production, and COOP environments.
  • Interprets and clarifies policies, procedures, performance standards and monitoring techniques related to audit readiness, vulnerability management, and information security.
  • Applies the following: IT program management approaches, agile principles, emerging IT acquisition strategies, performance measures and quality management, acquisition planning, information assurance...
  • ... systems engineering, IT systems sustainment approaches, and systems engineering activities as they relate to program protection, interoperability, and technology.

Qualifications

To qualify for An IT Specialist (APPSW), your resume and supporting documentation must support:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

- Performs design, development and maintenance of appropriate portions of training material in a prescribed method that will be used for knowledge transfer and training of other team members.
- Develops project plans, implementation guidance, and assesses implementation of information assurance vulnerability alerts and CERT taskings.
- Interprets and clarifies policies, procedures, performance standards and monitoring techniques related to audit readiness, vulnerability management, and information security.
- Participates in all phases of the systems development life cycle, including design, development, support and maintenance of the assigned system.
- Executes software administration best practices to ensure system confidentiality, availability and integrity, security.

For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

This position requires a Engineering & Tech Management (N) / ETM, Practitioner acquisition certification. The incumbent has 60 months to achieve this certification unless a Position Requirements Waiver is approved to extend the certification period.
