Duties

Help
  • Assists and provides advice to field on developing Privacy Impact Assessments, Privacy Act Statements, System of Records Notices, as well as how to manage and protect Personally Identifiable Information.
  • Conducts site visits to assess program compliance with the Agenyc Privacy Program.
  • Subject matter expert for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance program, performing evaluations of compliance within the Network.
  • Coordinate strategic and operational planning, organizing, staffing, decision support, and policy development.
  • Performs or directs the performance of various studies, to include trending and statistical analyses, for performance monitoring and decision making.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements budgetary policies affecting the financing and accomplishments of important programs/projects.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting with operation and/or policy formation in a medical organization or network; 2) ensuring compliance with governing regulations, such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); AND 3) reviewing legislation for impact to medical facility and patient care. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).



Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
