Duties

Help
  • Serves as chief of the 2d Theater Signal Brigade, S-3 Engineering Division, Installation Branch.
  • Supervises a multidisciplinary team of electronic technicians and telecommunication specialists in the 2d Theater Signal Brigade, S-3 Engineering Division, Installation Branch.
  • Incumbent is delegated managerial authority to perform long-range planning, scheduling, and implementation of the goals and objectives of functions performed within the branch.
  • Performs technical assignments in design, development, and modification of existing and planned communications systems.
  • Develops installation packages including detailed bills-of-material, technical drawings, and technical installation instructions.
  • Conducts technical review, analysis, and evaluation of equipment and system problems or proposals in specialized area.
  • Serves as technical point of contact and/or Government representative performing technical evaluation of contractor deliverables relative to information systems projects.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, and up to TS/SCI, based on mission requirements.
  • Temporary duty travel 25% of the time.
  • The work may require regular and recurring visits to installation sites in which there will be a considerable amount of stooping, bending, lifting of heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
  • This position may require the incumbent to frequently travel for long periods away from the normal duty station to include CONUS or OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
  • Incumbent must be willing to travel on military and/or commercial aircrafts to possible hostile areas.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid State License and a USAREUR-AF Driver’s license.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Transportation Motor Pool (TMP)/Non-Tactical Vehicle (NTV) driver’s license for driving Government Owned Vehicles.
  • This is an Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program position. Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the certification/recertification for this position.
  • This position is designated Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level-II, or IAW Level-I.

This position is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Full Performance Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe experience specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by technical knowledge of telecommunications operations, hardware, electronics, and automation to resolve highly complex, critical, and conflicting telecommunications requirements, issues, and problems; the ability to plan, analyze, review, coordinate, and integrate installation (i.e., inside and outside plant) requirements; exceptional knowledge of international telecommunication standards and the ability to implement organizational standards, guidelines, or policies for telecommunications systems; and experience supervising and motivating employees to support complex assignments.

  • Current DoD Employees: If a current permanent CES employee, you shall be granted administrative return rights. If not a current permanent CES employee, you may be granted administrative return rights if agreed to by your CONUS organization.
  • In accordance with DoD CES Personnel System Implementation Guidance for Overseas Rotations and Administrative Return Rights, employees must be able to satisfy the rotation requirement and tour limitations in DoD Instruction 1400.25 Volume 1230.

  • Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
  • The initial length of this overseas tour is 36 months.
