Duties

Help
  • You will provide appropriate pre-arrival instructions and relay any additional instructions to the responding units.
  • You will obtain any relevant information to the call to include patient status, location of fire, etc.
  • You will provide location and type of incident to determine appropriate public safety response.
  • You will dispatch fire apparatus, medical apparatus, police units and civilian apparatus, etc.
  • You will monitor status and availability of police, fire, and medical field units to assure an appropriate response is made without the compromise of quality of services to the public.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to complete all required trainings.

Qualifications

GS-06Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Utilizing emergency communication equipment; 2) Prioritizing emergency and non-emergency calls for service to respond accordingly; 3) Dispatching emergency vehicles including police, fire, and medical services personnel; and 4) Acting as the initial incident command support until responding emergency units arrive on scene.

GS-05Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Dispatching emergency vehicles; and 2) Assessing incoming emergency calls to determine appropriate course of action.
