Duties

Help
  • Performs or advises on work in any of the bases or systems of budget administration.
  • Analyzes and recommends costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations.
  • Implements legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets.
  • Provides advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs and activities.
  • Works within a variety of financial programs to include General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), and Financial Management Information System (FMIS), and performing accounting and other financial management duties for the organization.
  • Supervises, sets priorities and schedules work as necessary to assure effective accomplishment of priority work without adverse effect daily work.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) analyzing and recommending costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management operations; 2) implementing legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets; and 3) providing advice on methods for the use of funds to support the organization; and 4) display extensive knowledge on financial and accounting automated systems.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Education
