  • Manage project operations and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure equipment.
  • Review engineering drawings, proposals and projects of overall objectives to ensure cost feasibility.
  • Assist estimators and shop personnel in the optimization of industrial operations.
  • Provide technical information in understanding complex engineering drawings.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • One-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

  • Must be able to occasionally travel (10%) to attend workshops, training, or seminars.
  • Position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.


** Applicants MUST meet specialized experience to qualify. **


Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) developing conceptual facility designs for review and approval; 2) ensuring the continuous operation of facilities involving the installation/repair of HVAC equipment, electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, and control systems; AND 3) writing scopes of work for engineering or construction projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). - However, there is no one-graded interval of this series position in the normal line of progression of this organization.

*Note- This position will be accepting specialized experience at the second lower level of GS-09 grade level for in service applicants.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
