About the position: This position will be assigned to the Club located at Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts.

The position is a flexible position, which means you are not guaranteed hours or benefits but could work anywhere between 0 and 40 hours per week. Flex employees will be eligible for the use of the fitness center, lodging, and other activities. Position requires working irregular schedules, to include weekends, holidays, and all shifts.

Duties

Help

As Central Cashier, the Incumbent will perform the following duties and responsibilities: Uses double-entry bookkeeping techniques to ensure proper cash handling accountability. Troubleshoots routine actions be verifying audit trails and corrects errors. Searches for substantive solutions and recognizes unique and unusual trends or other problems in cash handling. Collects each activity cash receipts, cash register tapes, checks, credit cards, tokens coupon and other supporting documented. Performs reconciliation, balancing, and auditing of receipts. Ensures the proper accounting for charge cards, and sales receipts and ensures that they are included within the daily cashier's report. Prepares all accounting documents and forwards to HQ AFRC Accounting Office. Prepares cash reports and notifies supervisor of any irregularities. Ensures that all moneys are accounted for by balancing with posting of funds turned in by activities before actual bank deposit(s). Prepares consolidated bank deposits and ensures daily deposits in local financial institution. Prepares and issues change from funds as required. Maintain control logs, keys, etc. that provide access to cash safe and documents. Ensures that cash and items are always kept in designated safe that applicable security measures are applicable security measures are exercised. Maintains funds handling book, to include updating operating instruction, and robbery procedures, and controlling of cash assets.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Progressively responsible clerical work which includes demonstrated ability to perform common arithmetic problems and to make change when receiving payments from customers. Experience in clerical duties in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit custody, or other processing of cash items when this includes (1) direct handling of cash items (2) use of cash accountability control methods. A working knowledge of a 10-key calculator is desirable. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must successfully complete a National Agency Check with inquiries (NACI).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
