As a/an IT SPECIALIST (SYSANALYSIS), you will:

  • Assist in the design of cloud architectures that can scale horizontally and vertically to meet varying workloads and future growth and participate in the effort to build redundant systems to ensure high availability and disaster recovery, minimizing single points of failure following cloud provider best practices and architectural frameworks, such as the AWS Well-Architected Framework or Azure's Well-Architected Review.
  • Identify needs and conduct in-depth technical research both in industry and in the public sector and draft polices as they relate to new and existing products, platforms or services aligning them to Federal governance and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to set clear, measurable goals aligned with the Branch Chief's objectives and priorities.

The duty station for this position will be the U.S. city and state of the approved remote work location, which is often an employee's home.

Key Requirements:

  • Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Managing enterprise, cloud or data center systems; AND-
Communicating with internal and external stakeholders orally and in writing; AND
- Managing an Information Technology team responsible for developing, planning, and implementing modern technology; AND
- Analyzing program materials and offering recommendations for improving the delivery of program information to affected individuals and/or groups.


Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.

In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Additional information

Pay will be determined based on the duty location of the position. Remote employees will receive the locality rate associated with the location of their remote worksite. This position is a remote work position. While work will generally be performed from the employee's approved remote work location, which is often the employee's home, the employee may be required to physically report in person to an agency worksite, training site, community site where work is being performed, or to travel when instructed to do so to meet business needs.
