Summary

Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, & Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees.
This position is located within Commander Navy Region Northwest (CNRNW), Fleet & Family Readiness Department, MWR Admin branch at NBK-Bangor. Provides various administrative duties to support programs.

Duties

Help

  • Responsible for central cashier operations and oversite.
  • Receives and verifies counts, assigns, distributes, and safeguards funds.
  • Serves as an authorized point of contact for local banking institutions.
  • Maintains administrative responsibilities for MWR vehicles and acts as mail orderly.
  • This is not an all-inclusive list of the functions of the central cashier.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Must have valid driver's license for daily local travel.
  • Must have the ability to meet predetermined deadlines

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the generally accepted accounting procedures, rules and regulations in safeguarding cash and other assets to conduct and examine the validity of the cash transactions.
  • Ability to operate office machines such as calculator, cash register and computer. Must have minimum of 6 months experience as a cashier.
  • Must have minimum of 6 months experience as a cashier.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Additional information

Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period. Participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required. We utilize E-Verify to confirm selectee's eligibility to work in the United States.
