Duties

Help

Manage all nonclinical AE programs including mobility/readiness/plans, logistics, communications, maintenance, organizational management, administration, and personnel to ensure optimum management of resources.

Validate/manage budget planning and execution, Unit Manning Documents (UMDs), and Designed Operational Capability (DOC) statement requirements.

Oversee inventories, required reports, and ensuring use of automated tracking systems for patient movement items (PMI).

Schedule required contingency/wartime training to be included in various courses to include defense support to civil authorities (DSCA).

Meet with agency representatives and coordinating authorities to assess mission requirements, support details, explain AE doctrine, organizational policy and procedures, and resolve issues.

  • Position may or will require incumbent to Fly in military and/or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments
  • Required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
  • Position may require a background security investigation to determine suitability for employment and/or a security clearance
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide
  • May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • May be required to work uncommon tours of duty with limited to no notice.
  • This position is designated as a mobility position. The incumbent must be willing to move/transfer to another unit/location on a lateral or promotion basis as directed by Headquarters Air Force Reserve Center (HQ AFRC).

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Group Standard for Administrative & Management Position.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level (or other equivalent pay systems) in federal service which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position being filled. Specialized experience is experience which includes assisting in providing management for program integration/execution requirements for an operational flying aeromedical evacuation (AE) unit; assisting in assessing the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of AE unit program and operations and analyzing and resolving problems in the staffing, effectiveness, and efficiency of AE activities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of aeromedical evacuation mission, command relationships, operational concepts, contingency, mobility and plans requirements and knowledge of medical readiness planning and training requirements and administrative staff functions.

2. Knowledge of relationships between various entities in overall planning and execution of operations and knowledge of command, control, and communication (C3) for worldwide AE.

3. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and demonstrate computer skills to generate data in spreadsheets and reports.

4. Knowledge of safety, security, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations, practices, and procedures and ability to plan, organize, and assign work to subordinate employees

5. Ability to manage/coordinate health services programs to include: logistics, facilities, finance, operations/support, human resources, patient administration, AE, communications/information systems and operational reporting systems.

6. Knowledge of Air Force, DoD, and/or civilian sector operational health care systems to include, ancillary/support services, managed and contract care, medical operations and in-route medical support, and adjunct health care systems.

7. Ability to plan, organize, and direct an AE system infrastructure and medical/aeromedical operations and knowledge of medical readiness planning and training requirements and administrative staff functions.


PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
