Duties

Help
  • Develop mid and long range plans for pay processing operations.
  • Responsible for organizational performance analysis and adjusting organizational structure as needed to meet emerging missions.
  • Serve as Reserve Pay Officer for the United States Army Reserve (USAR) Pay Center.
  • Direct development and testing of internal and external financial systems and processes for military pay.
  • Represent the organization to the installation and senior officials of external organizations.
  • Provide technical oversight of the Reserve Military Pay Branch.
  • Supervise the daily operations of the Reserve Pay Analysis Branch.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying public laws, statutes, and regulatory programs concerning financial systems analysis; developing policy and procedures concerning military pay; analyzing financial management data and financial management systems; writing instructions and procedures on regulatory policies; providing oral presentations on policies, new programs and procedures.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

  • Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 5 years, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Term appointment has the potential to be extended beyond six years up to eight years.
  • Army employees who accept a time-limited appointments (to include employees with personal competitive status) will be separated at the end of the time-limited appointment date if the Not-to-Exceed (NTE) date is not extended.
