Duties

Help
  • Prepare calibration reports for customer use, providing specific information such as assigned values, corrections factors, and measurement uncertainty for instruments being calibrated.
  • Assist and advise users in the application of, and calibration requirements for TMDE in support of their mission.
  • Implement, adapt, modify and occasionally develop technical procedures required by changing user or equipment requirements.
  • Identify and document errors in existing procedures and provide information used for the development of technical documents used for TMDE calibration and certification.
  • Serve, as the workload dictates, as a specialist in physical/dimensional and ionizing radiation calibration. Performs other duties as assign.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator ~ without more than normal supervision. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage, high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
