As a IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • The incumbent serves as an Information Technology (IT) Product Owner (PO) in support of the IS Systems.
  • Oversees and monitors the delivery of software/technical solutions throughout the software life cycle process, ensure the software team develops, deploys, updates, maintains, and tests software using methodologies and tools, designs to leverage software re-usability and establishes and utilizes software engineering metrics.
  • Prioritizes projects tasks for contractors and facilitates project initiations and approval processes, change management and deployment activities.
  • Ensures the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of planning and management services.Anticipates client needs and evaluates product progress at each iteration and recommends solutions and best practices.
  • Performs in depth analysis of current systems to accomplish continuous delivery and continuous integration while creating opportunities to implement automatic deployments.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.

You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-12) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes:

  • Subject matter expert in system life cycle management principles, including software security and usability.
  • Performing needs analysis to determine opportunities for new and improved business process solutions.
  • Act as a primary stakeholder in the underlying information technology (IT) operational processes and functions that support the service, provide direction and monitor all significant activities so the service is delivered successfully.
  • Work with other service managers and product owners to balance and prioritize services to meet overall customer requirements, constraints, and objectives.
  • Managing test assets, test resources, and test personnel to ensure effective completion of test events.
  • Interpreting and translating customer requirements into operational capabilities.
