Duties

Help
  • You will file, maintain, and search systems which include not only correspondence but also directives, manuals, publications and similar material.
  • You will conduct follow-up actions to assure the receipt of timely responses to established requirements in accordance with suspense dates.
  • You will assist staff members on individual projects with assembling data, consolidating and preparing reports.
  • You will type or prepare travel requests, advances, and vouchers.

Qualifications

FOR GS-04:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 grade level or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Filing, maintaining, and searching file systems which include not only correspondence but also directives, manuals, publications and similar material; 2) Assembling data, consolidating and preparing reports; and 3) Opening and reviewing incoming mail and prepares incoming/outgoing mail.


FOR GS-05:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Completing a variety of administrative processes in support of the work unit; 2) Processing moderately complex administrative documents by researching and applying instructions, policies or procedures of the specialty area; and 3) Maintaining time and attendance records, typing and/or preparing travel requests, advances and vouchers; requisitioning office supplies, equipment, and publications.


FOR GS-06:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Processing a wide variety of complex transactions for more than one type of assigned activity or functional specialization; 2) Comprehensive knowledge of rules, regulations, and other guidelines relating to completing assignments in the program area assigned; and 3) Implementing a variety of administrative processes in support of the work unit.

Successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable at grades GS-3 through GS-5 for all positions except Reporting Stenographer, GS-5. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
