• Verify diner eligibility and category by asking for and checking documents such as ID card, meal card, patient arm band, military rank, etc.
• Courteously greet diners.
• Operate electronic cash register with accuracy and speed in totaling items purchased, collecting cash and giving correct change.
• Consolidate cash after each meal and prepares cash turn-in documents.
• Prepare signs and menu boards to display menu items and prices for each meal.
• Replenish the dining area with supplies and utensils.

Conditions of employment

In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. General Experience: Six months of general experience in any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, OR experience that provided a familiarity with operating a cash register, restocking supplies and performing light cleaning duties.

OR

Education: One year of education above the high school level. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 6. Then divide your semester hours of education by 30. Add the two percentages.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

• Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)
• Eye-Hand Coordination
• Fundamentals and Operations of Finance
