Duties

Help

This position provides support on a variety of projects for the agency’s real-time Remote Monitoring and Logging System (RMLS) software, hardware, and database projects through all phases of the projects. The incumbent participates as a technical team member on associated activities related to RMLS requirements, design, development, testing, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring.

Performs a mixture of basic and routine assignments under the close direction of a team lead or more experienced technical specialist. Applies technical knowledge and experience to accomplish assignments. Work activities typically support the work of other employees and contribute to activities of the organizational unit.

Typical duties include:

  1. Evaluating and analyzing all facets of Real-time Remote Monitoring and Logging System (RMLS) Remote Maintenance Monitor (RMM) operations and activities associated with the system.
  2. Recommending modifications, enhancement, and problem resolution to support system restorations to the operational RMLS;
  3. Conducting functional verification and test activities to ensure that developed changes are implemented as designed and comply with RMLS RMM requirements.
  4. Develop and provide briefings on status of Remote Maintenance Monitoring (RMM) hardware, software, connectivity, alarms, and databases to various System Support Centers (SSC’s), Operational Control Centers (OCC) and Service Operations Center (SOCs).
  5. Reviewing and evaluating Reported Defects and proposed program improvements;
  6. Providing support for the planning, requirements, design, development, testing, and maintenance of current and future RMLS changes;
  7. Applying RMLS expertise in the development of new and improved concepts, enhancements, and techniques for advancing the current systems.

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
