This National Guard position is for a SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION AND RESPONSE COORDINATOR (SAR WF), Position Description Number T5668000 and is part of the CO JFHQ, National Guard.

Serves as the 140th Wing Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Coordinator for the military, civilians, and dependents. Under the supervision of the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Officer (State SAPR).

Duties

Help

Serves as the 140th Wing Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Coordinator (SARC) to comply with Department of Defense (DOD) and National Guard Bureau (NGB) requirements to institute and administer secondary prevention and support programs and activities for sexual assault and other areas of interpersonal violence and victim needs as directed by the 140th Wing CDR. Assesses the 140th Wing need for the creation and/or modification of processes, procedures, contacts, and training necessary to carry out the program and meet DOD and NGB objectives. Builds and maintains a 140th Wing response and victim support system which addresses a wide variety of issues and problems. Serves as the 140th Wing CDR consultant on sexual assault prevention, response concerns, and trends and representative involving all sexual assault issues on committees, working groups, conferences, and community meetings which may include being a liaison with the community sexual assault response team (SART). Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • For positions requiring the operation for motor vehicle, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
  • Required to obtain and maintain receive the DoD mandated Defense Sexual Assault Advocate Credentialing Program (D-SAACP) certification and maintain certification through meeting annual continuing education training requirements.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.

Qualifications

Must have experience or knowledge in each of the following:
1. Knowledge and skill to advise, manage, implement, assess, and oversee Sexual Assault Prevention and Response programs.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of sexual assault principles, laws, regulations and policies, and relevant decisions to recognize and prevent sexual assault and make technical recommendations for decisions in sexual assault cases.
3. Knowledge of state sexual assault program administration, policies and practices in order to provide technical assistance to answer questions, solve problems, and explain issues.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of sexual assault prevention and response, executive orders, laws, regulations and policies, and relevant decisions to recognize and prevent sexual assault, and to make technical recommendations for decisions in resources and response for sexual assault cases.
5. Skilled in managing a program, to include organizing an office, problem solving, motivating others to take necessary actions, and negotiating allocation of resources for the program which is primarily the amount of the budget and the allocation of part-time victim advocates.
6. Knowledge of the National Guard organizational structure to include, functional assignments to subordinate organizations, nature of their missions, and work force composition.
7. Skilled communicator: must have expert speaking and writing skills to perform effective presentations, conduct training seminars, communicate with federal, state and local agencies, and medical facilities.

Education

Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
