Duties

  • You will ensure day to day maintenance and repair work is completed independently and unusual or emergency work is completed with minimal guidance and oversight.
  • You will independently oversee and document preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance on automated system equipment, notifies supervisor of malfunctioning equipment, and arranges for repairs.
  • You will address general work requests concerning problems or command requested actions.
  • You will determine the priority nature and extent of the problem or request and resolves the request through acquired expertise, coordination with in-house personnel and/or with outside vendor support if in-house personnel are unable to resolve.
  • You will submit and track work requests through the base MAXIMO system and occasionally requires collaboration with Public Works, Naval Facilities Command (NAVFAC) and Quantico base maintenance.
  • You will work with base maintenance personnel and contractor support to ensure the oversight of service calls pertaining to Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) from submission to completion.
  • You will assess problematic issues (i.e., alarms, outages, damage, security breaches and weather conditions) and determine/recommend appropriate course(s) of action.
  • You will resolve problems by using documented procedures, reference manuals, troubleshooting guides and expertise.
  • You will provide technical assistance and facilities input to engineering, budgetary and administrative personnel as it relates to Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) plans and programming.
  • You will prepare correspondence, reports, and other documentation in response to staff and command requirements and inquires.
  • You will support the facility division with scheduling preventive maintenance.
  • You will plan, schedule, and implement priority of work to optimize service that is essential to Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) sustainment of operation.
  • You will assist with Base Operating Support (BOS) Contract Oversight and with the daily visual and physical inspection of work accomplished by BOS contract as it applies to Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) buildings and assets.
  • You will track the completion of warranty repairs such as boiler, Direct Digital Control (DDC), Computer Room Air Conditioner (CRAC), Uninterrupted Power Source (UPS), and Heating, Ventilation Air Condition System (HVAC).
  • You will prepare Scope of Work (SOW), Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE), and conduct Market Research and Project analysis.
  • You will determine and execute appropriate maintenance, repair and improvement based on the structure of building and materials.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS Trial Period.
  • This position may be subject to a Polygraph Examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS/GG-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as:

  1. Managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military, or other special-purpose installations, including planning maintenance activities, and developing preventive maintenance programs.
  2. Conducting surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operations performed by a variety of private contractors, including reviewing project plans and specifications for workability, informing contractors of construction and reporting requirements, and supervising operations for conformance with project plans.
  3. Performing maintenance or construction work, including estimating material and labor costs for a variety of construction or maintenance projects involving structural, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, minor construction and quality assurance of contract support.
