Serves as a Data Scientist who may serve as an independent analyst, team participant, or team leader for the most complex data science projects.
Applies the rigors of the data science discipline to data analysis in Cyber, Information Technology and economic analyses of complex and potentially controversial major information technology systems and networks.
Responsible for researching and modeling the most complex problems, discovering insights and identifying opportunities using statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques.
Integrates and prepares large, varied datasets, creates specialized database and computing environments, and communicates results.
Coordinates closely with data stewards, project/program managers, and other IT teams to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound organizational decisions.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
Must obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). The IT classification for this position is IT III. Position is designated as Special Sensitive.
The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analyst:
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
Basic Requirement for Data Scientist:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position.

B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
