Qualifications
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). DUTIES:
As a HEALTH TECHNICIAN (D2061000), GS-0640-7, you will accomplish work in the area of personnel medical readiness management and reporting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is sedentary. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a typical office setting. Special safety precautions are not required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year at next lower-level GS-06 or the equivalent TWENTY-FOUR (24)months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as coordinating and ensuring the timely and accurate input of data regarding physicals, dental, immunizations, HIV/DNA, and profiling into the automated medical records and management systems; organizing and researching patient records, extracting needed information, and reviewing records for completeness, accuracy, and consistency; monitoring the execution of all medical readiness events; collecting data and/or information used in the evaluation of individual medical readiness; providing guidance and assistance to subordinate unit personnel in the completion and maintenance of medical readiness information; advising the Battalion/Squadron staff on manual and automated medical record management programs; maintaining a variety of files, records, and forms; preparing special and recurring reports; receiving and distributing mail and composing replies to routine military and non-military correspondence; and maintaining suspense records of items requiring action or replies.
Education
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for 3 months of specialized experience. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.
Copy of official/student transcripts showing conferred Degree must be included in order to receive credit for education. Unofficial transcripts from internet or with alterations will not be considered. To receive credit for education the information must be included in the education section of the Resume.
