Summary

The Project Manager (Facilities) position is in the Facilities Branch of the Capital Projects and Facilities Management Division and is responsible for day-to-day, front of the house (public spaces) planning, coordinating, and overseeing facility-related projects, such as reconfiguration and renovation projects. This role ensures that all public spaces are safe to the public and that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.

Brief Description of Duties

  • Serves as Facility Management’s (FM) primary point of contact for managing the identification and corrective repairs of safety related concerns to "front of the house” public spaces.
  • Manages and coordinates the activities of contractors, tradesmen and respective vendors to accomplish the scope of each assigned task/project.
  • Conducts and directs periodic (daily/monthly) facility walks to identify safety and aesthetic concerns to be input into the Courts computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Manages and reviews the CMMS system to ensure FM’s tasks and projects are input and closed properly, including that all applicable deliverables (drawings, contracts, invoices and daily notes) are filed.  
  • Collaborates and coordinates with all applicable stakeholders to effectively complete tasks and projects.
  • Works closely with the Building Operations Manager who provides technical assistance on matters that may require engineering or trade disciplines.
  • Evaluates the availability of project funds and project changes and provides supporting documentation to secure additional funds for this purpose.
  • Responsible for recommending and implementing training programs for professional development of FM’s staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:  A High School diploma and a minimum of nine (9) years of experience in facilities management.  Must have experience working on projects that include oversight over projects located in secured facilities.

  • Facilities Management Profession (FMP) Certificate through International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) or equivalent certification is required.
  • OSHA 30 Safety Certification through Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is required.
  • PMP and/or CCM certification preferred. Experience working on both Design Build and Design Bid Build projects are also preferred.

This job is being filled by an alternative hiring process and is not in the competitive Federal civil service.
