Duties

Help
  • You will perform work on the phases of budget administration in the systems .
  • You will analyze the costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management for the organization's programs and administrative operations.
  • You will implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets while providing funding justifications for the year.
  • You will provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs.
  • You will develop and formulate a major segment of an installation's budget request for the coming fiscal year.
  • You will prepare a wide variety of reports covering the status of funds, expenses and obligations, as required by higher authority.
  • You will review estimates for compliance with applicable regulations and procedures.

  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

GS-11
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing oversight and management of the financial posture of an organization in planning, formulation, evaluation, analysis of budget and cost estimates, budget execution and statistical analysis, control and reporting of obligations and expenditures utilizing financial policies and procedures.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing clerical and technical support for accounting, budgeting, and related financial management work and reconciles government accounts.

The following education can be substituted for experience:
GS-11

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related

GS-09

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

LL.B. or J.D., if related
