Serve as an authority on the environmental management program with the responsibility for the implementation of environmental policies and programs.
Environmental policies and programs embrace a range of subjects directly or indirectly concerned with contamination of surface and ground water resources, public safety and welfare, and protection of the installation's natural resources.
Develop and manage a comprehensive restoration program.
Serve as the installation's liaison and technical specialist in contacts with other agencies, e.g., the EPA, state and local government officials, leaders of public interest groups, attorneys, private contractors, and staff at IMCOM, AEC and USACE.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must be able to perform up to 25% of temporary duty (TDY) travel.
This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a driver's license in one of the 50 US states or possessions and any installation and/or DoD requirement.

Specialized experience is defined as experience in planning, implementing and monitoring local environmental compliance programs and services and preparing environmental documentation.
