  • Serve as the GSA Fleet Manager responsible for accountability and tracking of life cycle replacements.
  • Evaluate performance of subordinate personnel.
  • Maintain and track the Motor Pool budget to provide monthly reports to the Directorate Logistics Support.
  • Plan work schedules and sequence of operations for all Motor Pool staff and transportation mission to assure vehicle are operational.
  • Advise personnel regarding equipment repair procedures, overhaul standards, shop operations, priority repair emphasis, implementation of directives, and related matters.

  • Position is subject to pre-employment physical, position must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and able to sustain walking on hard surfaces for long periods, and in cases working in outside weather conditions.

Qualifications

About the Position: The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position serves as the Supervisory Maintenance Specialist located at the Camp Stanley Storage Activity, which is a subordinate installation of JMC. Serve as the Installation Maintenance Program and Motor Pool Manager responsible for the daily operations, strategic planning, complex issue resolution, regulatory implementation of the division.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:

  • Plan, coordinate, or carry out maintenance projects to meet deadlines;
  • Apply complex federal maintenance regulations to ensure compliance;
  • Assess the efficiency of maintenance operations to develop problem solving solutions; and
  • Direct or assign work of other motor pool personnel by priority.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Physical Demands

The work is predominately sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required, such as short periods of walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as mechanic tools, maintenance parts, and books. Upon assisting with procurements or inventories may be required to occasionally lift/carry items and equipment at the maintenance site weighing up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office. Mechanic maintenance bays are in open areas and occasionally weather conditions will require proper clothing. Minimal to normal risk/discomforts and observance of safety precautions are required.
