Duties

Help

As a FACILITY OPERATIONS SPECIALIST - TITLE 5, GS-1640-9, you will review construction and maintenance requests to determine priority. Identify appropriate funding sources and/or project resources. Process programming documents to include project books and cost estimates for the construction, maintenance, or repair of facilities. Provide guidance on the development of facility operations and maintenance methods, standards and techniques. Recommend and implement preventive maintenance procedures to maximize the life expectancy of operational facilities. Prepare plans and specifications for alterations and/or repairs. Coordinate preparation of architectural and engineering drawings covering modifications for existing ARNG facilities within the state. Assist managers in review of architect and engineer design and space criteria for economical utilization of facilities and equipment. Coordinate with federal, state and local government agencies on matters concerning fire prevention, protection and suppression. Assist in inspections of facilities and projects to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and contract specifications. Participate in the development of programs which provide facilities for the performance of administrative, logistic, maintenance and training functions of the ARNG. Analyze and determine facility scope and priorities. Maintain records relating to authorization, progress, production, cost and materials of construction projects. Perform other duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This position is located on a tobacco free facility.
Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least one (1) year experience at the next lower level in the normal line of progression through federal service (GS-07) or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the experience and knowledge of applying principles, concepts, and practices concerning equipment, facility, or service operations. Experience performing assignments using occupational methods, techniques, processes, and precedents.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment. (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only and unspecified work schedule will result in disqualification.
