Duties

Help
  • Supervises and provides substantive investigative, technical, and administrative guidance to staff of the Intake Unit, including investigators fully dedicated to the unit and investigators on rotational assignment.
  • Directs, coordinates, or oversees work of subordinates or ensures work is performed through other enforcement supervisors and team in carrying out the mission of the EEOC.
  • Oversees the initial assessment of all new charges, focusing on the appropriate categorization of charges following the Priority Charge Handling Procedures (PCHP) as well as the identification of Commission and District priorities.
  • Evaluates performance of subordinates and provides input for performance evaluations of all investigators who serve on CRTIU rotations.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for substantive technical questions from the public, employer community or other stakeholders.

Qualifications

For the GS-13: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in or related to the work of this position, serving as an investigator with responsibility for counseling charging parties/claimants, preparing, planning conducting and/or coordinating investigations, including collecting and analyzing data pertaining to the discrimination complaint; and communicating with respondent officials and witnesses regarding each stage of the investigative process.

Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS- 13 level.

Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements (e.g., time-in-grade and qualification requirements) within 30 days of the closing date specified in the vacancy announcement.
