DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. As delegated by supervisory chain, incumbent carries out program functions and services for the agency's Reasonable Modifications Program & Healthcare Compliance Division. Services include are not limited to the following: medical complaints, detainee disability identification and reasonable modifications, and data analysis. Incumbent utilizes federal regulations, agency policies, agency procedures, and specialized health care knowledge. Program functions require incumbent to communicate with individuals within and outside the department and requires extensive and basic collaboration to meet program goals. The incumbent independently performs a variety of functions which include fact-finding, analyzing data, and resolving complex problems. Incumbent may serve as the primary contact for leading projects as assigned.
2. Maintains awareness of program operational issues. Briefs and advises supervisory chain on program activities. Communicates program activities to agency leadership and stakeholders. Communication may require different formats (e.g., reports, oral reports, support materials), reoccurring frequency, and multiple communications based on stakeholder (e.g., custody). As necessary, the incumbent represents the office at briefings and meetings; and, coordinates meetings and presentations.
3. As delegated by supervisory chain, incumbent carries out program functions and services for the Health Care Compliance Division. Services include are not limited to the following: operations, performance of programs, policy, in adherence with agency and national standards. Incumbent utilizes federal regulations, agency policies, agency procedures, local accreditation standards, national accreditation standards and evidence-based treatment. Program functions require incumbent to communicate with individuals within the department and requires extensive and basic collaboration to meet program goals. The incumbent independently performs a variety of functions which include fact-finding, analyzing data, and resolving complex problems. Incumbent may serve as the primary contact for leading projects as assigned.
4. As an intermediate level officer, you will collaborate with internal and external agency stakeholders at the local, regional, and national level to assist in program development, and implementation of program functions, utilizing current resources such as agency directives and national based standards.

1. Review medical complaint responses from field to ensure responses are grammatically correct, relevance to grievance submitted, succinct, and in accordance with IHSC, detention, and community standards.
2. Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues specifically for our Intergovernmental Service Agreement (IGSA) facilities and provides general guidance on how to avoid or address similar situations proactively.
3. Initiates corrective action plans and incident reports and coordinates corrective action plans for deficiencies found from various detention audit groups.
4. Tracks and follows up on corrective action plans to ensure compliance with corrective action plans (this can be in collaboration with Field Medical Coordinators and Medical Quality Management Unit). Duty to phased to Medical Quality Management Unit in future.

1. Collaborates with IHSC facility medical staff, Field Medical Coordinators, and local Supporting Disability Access Coordinators (SDAC) to address detainee disability cases of concern to ensure accommodation needs are addressed and facilities are compliance with agency policy and federal law.
2. Serves as a point of contact for the ERO Disability Access Coordinator (EDAC) to ensure detainees receive proper disability accommodation when required.
3. Collaborates with the EDAC to resolve allegations involving detainee disability access needs reported by detainees, the DHS Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, non-governmental individuals/organizations, or other ICE stakeholders.

1. Reviews Availability of Health Care (AHC) request summaries prepared by IHSC Managed Care Program Coordinators to determine if the care required by the affected individual is available in the country the individual will be removed to. An AHC request is a formal request that is used to help inform ERO about potential medical care availability limitations in a country that may adversely impact an alien upon removal.
2. Maintains current knowledge of evidence-based practices and community health standards.
3. Maintains functional proficiency, patient confidentiality, and ease of use utilizing electronic health records as required by, and appropriate to, position.
4. Other duties as assigned as program evolves.

5. Occasional Travel required (<20%). The incumbent selected will TDY as needed to provide clinical care support at IHSC-staffed detention facilities with critical staffing needs and will travel to conduct site visits.
