  • Maintain a safe, healthy work environment in accordance with the rules, regulations and prescribed guidance on occupational health and safety hazards.
  • Execute and document quality assurance matters concerning Government oversight of contractor operations.
  • Promote internal and external customer satisfaction by establishing communications with appropriate representative.
  • Facilitate aircraft scheduling between the contractor and government flight operations in accordance with all applicable directives.
  • Monitor contractor performance and conducts quality assurance inspections to ensure contractor's processes, repairs, and maintenance of aircraft and aircraft systems are in accordance with contract and regulatory specifications.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes UH-60 aircraft maintenance, scheduling, coordinating and conducting quality assurance audits of procedures, processes and/or products of rotary wing aircraft and systems; experience with quality assurance methods and techniques for investigating, analyzing and effecting corrective action on quality problems on repair and maintenance of rotary aircraft systems; and applying knowledge of aircraft inspection and quality control methods/techniques to ensure airworthiness is maintained throughout the aircraft maintenance process. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education: Major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

  • Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years.
  • When a temporary promotion is terminated the employee will be returned to the position from which they were temporarily promoted; or, with their consent, to a different position of equivalent grade and pay.
  • When a temporary promotion is to an organization in a different command, the losing and gaining activities must agree to the temporary promotion and decide in advance which activity will assume responsibility for placement of the employee when the temporary promotion ends. If no decision is made, the employee will return to their permanent position of record. Employees who accept such time-limited appointment opportunities will be required to sign a statement of understanding.
  • Return rights to permanent position are not automatic and are subject to approval from the losing organization. If return rights are not agreed upon, the employee will not be placed in the temporary promotion or reassignment. If an employee is not granted administrative rights, the employee may still elect to be placed however, they become subject to the time limited action and will not return to their permanent position. Employees who accept such time-limited appointment opportunities will be required to sign a statement of understanding.
