Serves as Shift Supervisor at the Enterprise Satellite Communications Gateway (ESG) providing national, strategic, operational, and tactical satellite communications (SATCOM).
Responsible for the overall operations of the shift within the ESG facilities.
Acts on behalf of the Commander for the continuity of communications services, operational capabilities, administrative, and physical security involving facilities and personnel.
Serves as the focal point for operational status and military reporting to higher headquarters.
Provides on-the-job training and technical assistance to all newly assigned personnel.
Responsible for providing briefings to the Station Manager and Commander or their representative, command staff personnel and higher headquarters.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET clearance based on a Tier 5 background investigation with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
Temporary duty travel 10% of the time.
Required to perform shift work on a rotational basis.
In support of the mission, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a NTV driver license for driving Government Owned Vehicles.
The employee is required to obtain a DoDD 8570 IAT level II certifications appropriate to assigned duties of the position.
Position is designated as MISSION ESSENTIAL in order to perform essential duties defined as critical and essential regardless of weather conditions, emergency situations, or general dismissal.
Lifting up to 30 pounds is required.
This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport.
This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
