  • Evaluates the adequacy of contractor's construction schedule to insure proper planning, progress provision of availability of materials, equipment and labor coordination of the various phases of work.
  • Evaluates the adequacy of contractor's construction schedule to insure proper planning, progress provision of availability of materials, equipment and labor coordination of the various phases of work.
  • Interprets and clarifies construction plans and specifications to distinguish between compliance and non-compliance of workmanship, materials, equipment and safety requirements.
  • Serves as Quality Assurance Evaluator with responsibility for surveillance and evaluation of the contractor performance of the various functions of Public Works Support Services.
  • Analyzes quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends/conditions and/or weaknesses in the contractor's quality control system.
  • Prepares reports of progress, work placement, payment estimates, drafts of change orders and correspondence relative to status of construction operations and problems encountered at the site.

  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • Temporary Duty for Travel up to 5% may be required.
  • This is a seasonal position. Seasonal employment means annually recurring periods of work that typically last six months each year, but may vary depending upon the needs of management

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience GS-10 Grade Level: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Compiling technical data and/or inspection reports for various size construction projects; 2) Developing solutions for multidiscipline construction project problems such as civil, mechanical, structural, and electrical; 3) Providing quality assurance support to contractors throughout a construction project. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Specialized Experience GS-11 Grade Level: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Monitoring the progress of multidiscipline (civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, etc) construction projects; 2) Coordinate complex construction operations with multiple customers (such as large utility shutdowns where contractor, primary and secondary customers are impacted); 3) Observing and providing input on all phases of construction projects to ensure compliance with contract schedules, specifications, or shop drawings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).

Education
