Duties

Help
  • You will serve as a Program Manager in the Unmanned Maritime Systems Program Office of PEO Unmanned and Small Combatants.
  • You will develop and implement organization-wide strategies for generating, managing, analyzing, and storing large amounts of complex data in order to verify and validate technical maturation across multiple long-term projects.
  • You will lead the planning, programming, budgeting, and execution phases of data efforts.
  • You will create data management and analysis plans for implementation across a wide range of defense programs and capability development projects.
  • You will develop and maintain multi-year budget profiles, ensuring accurate and timely financial execution.
  • You will grow and maintain the services necessary to provide machine learning and data science information pipelines to identify and eliminate obstacles to the smooth functioning of the data pipelines.
  • You will oversee creation of machine learning algorithms, developing software, and managing information technology systems.
  • You will maintain awareness of proposed and ongoing projects and initiatives across the organization in order to identify unmet present and future data needs and promising cross-program opportunities.
  • You will conduct regular analysis of alternatives on software systems, service providers, and research and development to identify advantageous compromises between financial targets, projected organizational needs, and technical opportunities.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

FOR NH-04 (GS-14/15 equivalent): Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) or grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience evaluating program requirements (e.g., financial, contractual, resource allocation) to develop strategies for data management of unmanned systems.

SALARY CONTROL POINT: This hiring activity, within Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) Headquarters, has converted to the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) which is an alternate personnel system. This position has a control point. Thus, the salary range for this position is capped at GS-15, step 05 which is currently equivalent to $185,824. If your current salary is above this amount, your salary may be matched.

Several vacancies may be filled.
