Duties

Help

Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Oversees DIU's regional network of physical and virtual spaces, and regional representatives connecting DoD innovation organizations with the broader defense ecosystem.
  • Develops and executes the strategy for DIU's expanding network of OnRamp Hubs, including current sites and future expansions.
  • Ensures that each OnRamp Hub is strategically focused to maximize impact and directs resources towards Strategic Impact Projects.
  • Provides guidance, oversight and risk management for regionally oriented commercial operations, ensuring alignment with DIU's objectives and managing potential challenges proactively.
  • Collaborates with the Deputy Director of Commercial Operations, Portfolio Directors, and their teams to provide regular guidance on program objectives.

  • This position may require more than 30% travel.

Qualifications

Time in Grade:

For entry at the NH-IV (GS-14/15) level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a NH-III (GS-13) or higher grade in the Federal Service.

Education: Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Specialized Experience:

For the NH-IV (GS-14/15), you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the NH-III (GS-13) grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to NH-IV (GS-14/15) if outside the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as...Developing and executing the strategy for DIU's expanding network, engaging and catalyzing regional defense innovation ecosystems to facilitate collaboration, project management skills with the ability to oversee complex initiatives, direct programming initiatives, and regional economic development, entrepreneurship, or related fields.

In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Education

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at the NH-IV (GS-14/15) but the ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Engineering.

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education .

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application.
