Duties

Help
  • Serves as the experimentation team leader responsible for developing the annual experimentation learning objectives thru an operational analysis.
  • Managing, guiding and structuring experimentation and test and evaluation activities for the CFT.
  • Develops and briefs the operational scenarios that underpin the experimentation plan and manages the test and data collection.
  • Assigns work to employees assigned to the team based on priorities and the CFT 5 year plan.
  • Reviews the work of team members for technical quality.
  • Provides on-the-job training; recommending training courses and other development opportunities; and providing input to performance evaluations.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Lead Operations Research Analyst:

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. Transcripts must be attached for qualifications review.

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience developing and leading experimentation of warfighting capability, 2) Leading and executing analytical studies, 3) Working directly with the development, modification and/or employment of modeling and simulations within Army & DoD operational effectiveness analysis, and 4) Directing and leading multi-disciplinary teams, providing clear vision and guidance on study planning, and delivering results within specified timelines to meet senior leader decision requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DB-3/GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
