Summary

About the Position: This is an Administrative Officer GS-0341-09/11 position with the USACE Little Rock District, Executive Office located in Little Rock, AR. This position will be filled at the GS-09 (target GS-11) or the GS-11. Promotion is at management discretion.

Coordinates with the Commander, Deputy Commander and the District's administrative staff, the staffs of other districts, higher headquarters, subordinate elements, and other Federal, state and local governmental agencies.

Duties

Help
  • Evaluates staff actions for the District and provides staffing and task suspense recommendations as required. As directed by the Command Team, assists in resolution of District issues.
  • Furnishes executive level advice and assistance to the Command Team and senior leadership on a variety of issues involving District or regional interests.
  • As Administrative Officer, performs and oversees administrative actions assigned to both the Executive Office and General and Administrative Staff.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
GS-09: Have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service performing at the following duties: must possess at least 2 out of the 3: 1) Performing a wide variety of administrative tasks to include memorandums, briefings and slides; OR 2) Preparing orders and travel vouchers in an automated system and making travel arrangements OR 3) Managing and maintaining multiple office calendars.

OR

Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related

OR

Combination of the specialized experience AND education

GS-11: Have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal Service performing the following duties: 1) Providing a variety of administrative staff consultations and technical advisory services AND 2). Conducting research on an organizations business operation and providing reference materials for several topics AND 3). Maintaining an organizations events and standard business operations.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related

OR

Combination of the specialized experience AND education

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-GS-07 (for the GS-09) and GS-09 (for the GS-11).
