Duties

Help

  • Analyzes user processes, procedures, productivity indicators, and management information needs to identify opportunities for automation that can be reliably accomplished with agency authorized software and hardware.
  • Plans, designs, develops, tests, and implements local applications for the Center (e.g., utility programs, databases, tracking systems, usage systems, cost-benefit analysis systems, data input validation tables, and electronic services related to the Internet MS SQL Server, Visual Studio, Team Foundation Studio, IIS, T-SQL, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, CSS, and ADO.NET.
  • Serves as a technical representative to the Center managers and staff in configuring and using web-applications developed for center.- Develops software applications for use in the Center within the limits established by Agency procedures.
  • Upgrades equipment, installs new software, publishes application updates, and interprets or explains technical changes or new policies to the Center staff.

Qualifications

GS-13: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector, which includes:

  1. developing software applications for web-based platforms; AND
  2. developing automated processes and procedures for gathering and analyzing data, configuring automated production and metrics reports; AND
  3. developing and conducting information technology training in an office environment.
Applicants MUST have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
