Duties

Help

In this position, you will:
- Participate in the design, development, and execution of open innovation programs as part of the Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS) research team, reinforcing the program's capacity related to the UAS team's research areas, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity research directives with a focus on Public Safety UAS.
- You will execute uniquely tailored accelerator programs and prize challenges that meet the mission outcome using crowdsourcing, public outreach, social media marketing, and stakeholder engagement.
- You will work closely with PSCR's UAS AI and Cybersecurity researchers and Public Safety Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the strategic development of programmatic plans and prize challenge rules to ensure the programs are designed and implemented on time, within budget and meet all required federal regulations and laws.
- You will manage multiple parts of the process, including working with SMEs to develop public safety use cases focused on the technological advances of future UAS capabilities enabled by AI systems

Qualifications


To qualify for this position, applicants must possess 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level (ZA-II at NIST).
Specialized experience is defined as:
- Experience in engaging with key stakeholders in Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Cybersecurity to identify critical issues and recommend solutions for enhancing public safety.
- Develop and execute strategies for integrating UAS, AI, cybersecurity, and public safety considerations into actionable plans, informing the design and implementation of UAS Prize Challenges.

AND

You must possess a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
