Duties

Help

  • Coordinates and oversees multiple aspects of assigned intercollegiate athletic and public outreach events.
  • Duties consist of coordinating with appropriate home and visiting team coaches and staff, meeting and scheduling all areas of events to include; concessions, ticket office, marketing, sports media, security forces, facilities, and other areas as required.
  • Provides game-day event oversight and supervision of the event security contract company, monitoring Performance Work Statement (PWS) compliance during said event.
  • Schedules and manages game-day event scoreboard/scoring personnel for assigned sports, ensuring on-time availability, all necessary paperwork is completed for their payment, and conducts direct oversight of event equipment set-up and take down before and after events.
  • Ensures all day-to-day event/game day requirements have been planned, coordinated, scheduled and are implemented IAW requirements established for each respective sporting event.
  • Ensures compliance with all Air Force, USAFA, and NCAA rules, instructions, policies, and guidelines as they pertain to Division I sport events.
  • Assists in directing all aspects of athletic intercollegiate scheduling for 27 sports, using computer generated database, spreadsheets and reports, including use of facilities and coordinating schedules with USAFA Events Scheduling Committee.
  • Assists with the oversight and coordination and approval process of all Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation (AFAAC) special events, ensuring facility/venue availability, to include supervisory oversight of all leased/licensed initiatives between government and AFAAC special events.
  • Provides administrative and program support and coordination for all events utilizing USAFA Athletic complexes.
  • Performs a variety of general office duties such as receiving telephone calls, and visitors, routing TMT and filing correspondence, answering questions, and maintaining files.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in sports management or related field, and a minimum of two years working experience in sports management/events at the NCAA or professional level.
  • Computer proficient and extensive knowledge in all MS Office applications, to include Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word.
  • Must possess strong organization skills and demonstrate excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills including public speaking.
  • Must be able to multitask and work under deadline pressure.
  • Must be able to speak, write and communicate in fluent English and have normal hearing.
  • Must be able to work an uncommon tour of duty to include nights/weekends and/or holidays.
  • Must have the ability for regular and recurring physical exertion such as long visits to outdoor sites and sporting events, with exposure to inclement weather.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Completion of a Local Agency Check and a Tier One investigation is required.

Education
