Duties

This position is a mission critical occupation and is responsible for ensuring that operational and fiscal activities align with and enable accomplishment of Health Resources and Services Administration's mission, goals and objectives.

As a Supervisory Management Analyst, you will serve as a Branch Chief responsible for planning, organizing, and providing management oversight of Branch operations.

Your major duties and responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative and technical supervision of Branch staff and planning and coordinating work to be accomplished by subordinates.
  • Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of Branch program operations in meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Reviewing and evaluating established policies to determine appropriate changes to improve the efficiency of current operations.
  • Developing procedures and systems for assessing the effectiveness of Branch program/management processes, resolving functional conflicts of internal programs, and making recommendations on new approaches.
  • Leading or participating in the development of strategies for effective communication, presentation, and dissemination of information on program initiatives and activities having direct impact on Bureau and Branch programs.
  • Performing studies to eliminate duplication of efforts.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM QUALIFYING SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE i
s experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, an applicant's one full year of specialized experience must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful job performance.

In order to qualify for this position at the GS-14 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of the minimum qualifying specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-13 level in the federal service.

Examples of minimum qualifying specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis:

1. Providing direction and recommendations to program administrators and managers concerning programmatic regulations, guidance, and procedures.

AND

2. Leading quantitative and/or qualitative evaluations focused on process improvement of administrative and management programs and services.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.

ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT - Knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production.
