Duties

Help
  • Administers Privacy Act (PA) programs for the Command and its components.
  • Maintains an inventory of Command-sponsored websites, applications, social media accounts, and other digital services and regularly reviews content proposed for posting to identify and advise on resolving potential privacy issues.
  • Drafts and prepares responses to public PA requests for information,.
  • Serves as an expert advisor and ensures all levels of HQ and component personnel have the information, they need to integrate PA assessments into their daily work.
  • Keeps abreast of recent developments in the field of privacy, including recent court and department decisions, current legislative resolutions or problems encountered within the PA program.
  • Prepares the Command’s breach response plan.
  • Provides expert advice, assistance, policy guidance, and staff advisory services on day-to-day PA and PII breach matters.
  • Develops and maintains training modules, job aids, and other materials intended to guide team members in considering PA regulations and other guidances.
  • Serves as a point of capture for action items with PA implications.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • May be recalled to duty, may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, and may be required to work overtime.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI clearance as a condition of employment and must complete a counterintelligence scope polygraph exam.
  • This position is a testing designated position (TDP) in accordance with (IAW) Drug Free Federal Workplace Program. Incumbent of this position must agree to submit urinalysis testing on a recurring basis.
  • The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical Under the DA, Drug Free Federal Workplace Program.
  • The incumbent must meet NSA personnel security requirements outlined in NSA/CSS Policy5-1.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1) developing policy, providing policy guidance and/or advisory services as it relates to the Privacy Act (PA); 2) interpreting and/or advising on new developments and/or recent court decisions, and/or legislative actions regarding release of information under the FOIA and/or PA; 3) preparing , training and presenting information to higher level management and team members and; 4) managing and coordinating agency responses to a wide variety of technical and administrative questions relative to legal and regulatory responsibilities, organizational structure and overall mission.
