Under the Education Student Trainee (Training) series, incumbent will perform a wide variety of employee development and training functions and duties to support instructional systems design, planning and management activities, including analysis, design, development, delivery, implementation, and evaluation of learning products, related services and learning program activities.

The DCSA Student Experience is looking for interns to join our team in the following duty areas:

  • Assist in the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation or similar instructional design process methodology in support of delivering, administering and managing all elements of training programs.
  • Coordinate systems and processes for delivery of training including resources, program communication, rosters, coordination with other service providers, and employee support activities.
  • Assist in approaches in measuring and evaluating effectiveness and efficiency of training programs and associated services as a learning experience.
  • Assist in soliciting, collecting and integrating evaluative information from multiple sources and present briefs, papers, studies, etc. that support decisions, actions, and strategies.
  • Assist in the administration of short and long-range plans, projects, and activities to satisfy specific program requirements, objectives, strategies, etc., including internal administrative tracking, rosters, etc.
  • Utilize multiple methods, tools, data collection approaches, etc., assist or conduct activities that document training assessments and evaluations of training programs, products or services to determine overall effectiveness and value of product or service provided.
  • Assist other training and development representatives in/with corollary programs or assignments as directed.
  • Assist in the occasional instruction or facilitation of sponsored or other employee development programs, course, event, or activity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Students accepted to the internship program must send an official transcript with spring 2025 semester/quarter grades to Student Programs prior to onboarding.
  • Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for non-competitive conversion to a permanent position effective after graduation if all requirements have been met. (See Below for other factors)
  • Funding availability, mission requirements, and other factors may apply.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the criteria specified below:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • To qualify at the GG-05 pay level: You must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program with a full-time course load at time of application and in the spring semester prior to the summer program, with an expected graduation date of October 2025 or later. Note: A full-time course load is at least 12 credit hours per semester.
  • To qualify for the GG-07 pay level: You must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program with a full-time course load at time of application with an expected graduation date of May 2025 or earlier. You must have conferred your undergraduate degree by May 2025 and be accepted into a graduate level educational program for the Fall 2025 semester. Proof of acceptance must be provided prior to start of position; OR you must be enrolled in an accredited graduate degree program with a full-time course load at time of application and in the spring semester prior to the summer program, with an expected graduation date of October 2025 or later.
  1. You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
  2. Students scheduled to graduate prior to winter 2025 are ineligible unless accepted and enrolled in a subsequent degree program. Documentation of subsequent degree program acceptance and enrollment will be required at time of application.


Education: All applicants must submit college or university unofficial transcripts as proof of enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program, current enrollment in a full-time course load and to confirm GPA. See below for further instruction on transcripts.

Relocation expenses or housing benefits are NOT offered for our student positions. This position is not remote. If you are selected, you will have to report to the office throughout your internship and be living within commuting distance to the office during the summer program.

**PLEASE NOTE** - This is not a developmental opportunity - this position will be filled at the GG-05 or GG-07 depending on applicant qualifications and organizational requirements.

The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) is a separate Agency of the Department of Defense (DoD) under the direction, authority, and control of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (USD (I&S). The mission of the DCSA is as follows:

-Deliver efficient and effective background investigations, adjudications and continuous vetting to safeguard the integrity and trustworthiness of an agile federal and contractor workforce, and preserve military readiness and warfighting capabilities
