Duties

Help
  • You will serve as the Deputy, Assistant Program Executive Officer, Engineering (DAPEO-E) for PEO Digital and Enterprise Services (PEO Digital)
  • You will provide expert level advice and counsel to all members of the Program Management Office (PMO).
  • You will anticipate the effects of new technologies on the strategic plans for IT programs.
  • You will evaluate new innovations and compare capabilities to identify requirements and continually evaluate the effectiveness of the current IT policy framework.
  • You will be responsible for assisting with PMO strategic planning activities.
  • You will advise, coach and mentor members of the Engineering Competency to enhance individual and team performance.
  • You will serve as a senior authoritative technical advisor in the engineering competency within PEO Digital.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Generally, current Federal employees applying for STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. All qualifications requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and stated in your resume.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience in Defense Acquisition Program Management policies and activities; workforce recruitment, training, qualifications and professional development. Experience in weapons systems and equipment of similar technology and complexity such as Communications, intelligence and Networking systems. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Knowledge and Skills highly desired include:
- Detailed understanding of implementing Agile processes within program development
- Understanding of new technologies and frameworks to include: Zero Trust, IPv6, Cloud, DevSecOps
- Understanding of enterprise networking systems, especially those within the Department of Defense
- Mentoring of junior personnel to include more junior NH-4s, NH-3s, and developmental employees at the NH-2 (GS-7-11) levels

Any person, regardless of current series, with a strong IT background will be considered for this position.

This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 752 Cyber Policy and Strategy Planner, proficiency level Advanced the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
